Here is an Oldie, but a Goodie that I May be re-doing as a Newbie??? (Don’t Spread, Color Instead)

This is an original, ORIGINAL, print that I took with me to the Tucson Comic Con in 2012. Eight years ago was the start. I had nine prints that I had done at a chain-copy store (I know). The paper quality was admittedly poor. I sold out of everything except one design, but I only had 4 left of that one so not bad. It was crazy. That was the first time I had experimented with drawing comic book characters in chibi style. People really responded positively so I kept drawing in that style, although I think mine is more of a chibi-fusion style because I’m influenced by American-style comics.

A VERY early version of Captain America (circa 2012)!

New Coloring Page – Harley Quinn! Stay Safe Only go out when Necessary (Don’t Spread, Color Instead)

Margot Robbie did such a good job portraying Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad that they brought her back for Birds of Prey. I saw the first movie but I haven’t seen the latter. I’m sure it’s available for pay-per-view, I just have to order it. From the reviews I’ve seen, Robbie does another great portrayal of the indomitable super villain.

Remember, I never throw out my old art. This is a print I made a few years ago when we first got a look at this talented actress as our favorite ex-psychiatrist gone bad. I remember that year at the cons, almost every Harley Quinn cos-player was dressed as Robbie’s portrayal: stockings, short shorts, heeled boots, a bat, and a red and blue baseball jacket. It was insane!

Even though Harley recently broke up with the Joker, this print was made during happier times when the two were still together. I used the same font for the name as the traditional Harley Quinn coloring page for continuity’s sake. Enjoy!

New Coloring Page – Colossus! (Don’t Spread, Color Instead)

This coloring page is brought to you courtesy of a fan in Indiana, Blair. He suggested that I draw Colossus. Excellent idea! The tricky part about drawing this character is that he has a larger body than a head (the exact opposite of chibi style). It was a real challenge but I think the end result is another fun coloring page. There are soooooo many different costumes for any one comic book character, I chose the traditional X-Men costume for Colossus. THANKS BLAIR for the idea!

Enjoy coloring and stay indoors and away from crowds.

New Coloring Page – The Green Goblin! Stay Safe and Away from Crowds (Don’t Spread, Color Instead)

Okay, so we are all stuck in this together and we need to support each other to get through it. Since I released two different Spider-Mans, I thought I would release one of the few villains I’ve ever made into a print. I sold this one a long time ago when I was just starting out showing at comic conventions. I really liked the pose of the Goblin on the Goblin Glider. AND I made him holding an exploding pumpkin! This print was a lot of fun to make. I hope you have as much fun with it as I did drawing it.

Maybe for coloring you could make a triptych with the two different Spider-Men flanking the Green Goblin? I dunno, be creative!

New Coloring Page – Black Widow! Stay Safe Indoors (Don’t Spread, Color Instead)

With the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus we are all working to stop the spread. If you are stuck indoors like I am (although I’m not complaining) you may want something to pass the time. I’m releasing a more-than-usual schedule of coloring pages this month to help with potential boredom. I have so many different versions that I’ve drawn over the years its amazing to see the progress as I re-release these oldies but goodies.

I’m so happy to see Scarlett Johansson back as Black Widow. When her character died in Avengers: Endgame to get the Soul Stone I was pretty upset. I don’t see too many strong female characters in the movies.

I created this print of Black Widow way back when the Age of Ultron movie came out, about five years ago. I’m contemplating redrawing this print for the new Black Widow movie. Let me know what you think?

New Coloring Page – Aquaman!

aquaman-justice-league-poster

I don’t know about you but I absolutely loved Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo in The Game of Thrones t.v. show. I was thrilled to find out he was chosen to play Aquaman in any and all upcoming movies starring the watery super hero. Regrettably, many people didn’t like (although I don’t know why cause I thought it ROCKED) Justice League when it came out a few years ago. Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Aquaman, a very funny Flash, and an awesomely-menacing-but-still-cool Cyborg all together on one screen and you’re going to bash it? Are you crazy?? It was a darn good movie!

Anyway, ignore all of those crazy, inaccurate reviews and take it from me, this is a really good movie. It’s very entertaining and Aquaman steals a scene where he accidentally sits on Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth – very funny!

I did this print a few years ago and never released the black and white as a coloring page. This one actually has a background on it because I started working on incorporating a story into the print. To make up for lost time, here it is! A chibi Jason Momoa as Aquaman.

New Coloring Page – Superman!

I already have a version of Superman available in my coloring pages but I thought I would add this one to the selection. Superman is such an icon that sometimes he is difficult to draw because  there is a certain expectation as to how he should look. I definitely had a lot of fun drawing his cape. Seriously? How many superheroes still have a cape? I kept his Clark Kent “All-American” male characteristics.

Enjoy drawing this other version of the Man of Steel.
