New Coloring Page – Cable! (Don’t Spread, Color Instead)

I really liked making this latest coloring page. I challenged myself with designing a gun from the future AND getting the proportions correct. It’s non other than Nathan Summers himself, Cable!

Cable was fun to draw because, first he has an augmented arm. I added the texture of metal (which I didn’t do on my previous Colossus coloring page) and added a background. I tried to make it look like a war-torn, post-apocalyptic landscape. I think it turned out pretty good. This was my first time designing firearms too. I made two bigger than life, from-the-future, blasters!

This trailer is jam packed with action scenes but it IS Deadpool so everyone reading this post knows there’s loose cannon humor in this posted trailer. Proceed with discretion!

I have only watched bits and pieces of the movie Deadpool 2. I still have to see it in its entirety. I didn’t know the original character of Cable was created by Chris Claremont in 1986 while the adult identity (which is the one I’m referring to) was created by writer Louise Simonson and artist/co-writer Rob Liefeld.  That incarnation of Cable first appeared in The New Mutants #87 (March 1990).

In my humble opinion, I think Josh Brolin was really well cast as a live-action Cable. It isn’t easy to live up to the public’s expectations of a cherished comic character’s persona.

Check out this AWESOME Cable coloring page I recently produced! I think it rocks! I’m so happy with the result, I think I’m going to make it into a full color print for 2020 Phoenix Fan Fusion (It was postponed until September!)

New Coloring Page – Harley Quinn! Stay Safe Only go out when Necessary (Don’t Spread, Color Instead)

Margot Robbie did such a good job portraying Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad that they brought her back for Birds of Prey. I saw the first movie but I haven’t seen the latter. I’m sure it’s available for pay-per-view, I just have to order it. From the reviews I’ve seen, Robbie does another great portrayal of the indomitable super villain.

Remember, I never throw out my old art. This is a print I made a few years ago when we first got a look at this talented actress as our favorite ex-psychiatrist gone bad. I remember that year at the cons, almost every Harley Quinn cos-player was dressed as Robbie’s portrayal: stockings, short shorts, heeled boots, a bat, and a red and blue baseball jacket. It was insane!

Even though Harley recently broke up with the Joker, this print was made during happier times when the two were still together. I used the same font for the name as the traditional Harley Quinn coloring page for continuity’s sake. Enjoy!

New Coloring Page – Black Widow! Stay Safe Indoors (Don’t Spread, Color Instead)

With the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus we are all working to stop the spread. If you are stuck indoors like I am (although I’m not complaining) you may want something to pass the time. I’m releasing a more-than-usual schedule of coloring pages this month to help with potential boredom. I have so many different versions that I’ve drawn over the years its amazing to see the progress as I re-release these oldies but goodies.

I’m so happy to see Scarlett Johansson back as Black Widow. When her character died in Avengers: Endgame to get the Soul Stone I was pretty upset. I don’t see too many strong female characters in the movies.

I created this print of Black Widow way back when the Age of Ultron movie came out, about five years ago. I’m contemplating redrawing this print for the new Black Widow movie. Let me know what you think?

New Coloring Page – Super Girl!

This year at the Tucson Comic Con I have two new female character prints: Rey and Harley Quinn. For some reason, the ladies never sell as well as the male comic book characters. Maybe because there aren’t as many female characters as the men or maybe because they don’t get as much play time? I don’t know. Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn are always popular but the others not so much. Regardless, here is an old Super Girl I dug out of the archives. Enjoy and Happy Halloween!
