Going to Dev Fare!

I’m a graduate of the University of Arizona so it’s really hard for me to show at ASU! Kidding. Actually, all rivalry aside, Dev Fare is a free event put on by students. Vanquish Studio went to Dev Con (at the time that’s what it was called) for the first time, I think, in 2015. It is a fun little, free, comic and gaming convention at ASU West.

If you live in the Phoenix metropolitan area and have free time GO CHECK IT OUT!

Planning on MORE Comic Cons

Vanquish Studio hasn’t done a lot of comic cons since 2015. 2019 is the year when I’m thinking of doing the Long Beach Comic Con, Palm Springs, Phoenix (goes without saying since it’s my own back yard), and Tucson. That is a total of four cons which, believe it or not, is a lot! Now, would I like to do more comic conventions, yes, but travelling is very difficult for me. Why? Well, I have a 9 to 5 that I┬áneed to worry about as well as other things. Regardless, I will be opening an Etsy shop soon to help people get my stuff when I can’t make it to their city. So stay tuned!!!

Tucson Comic Con 2018

Comic conventions are a lot of fun to attend but they are also very tiring. There is literally so much to look at and see from the art to the toys to the costumes, that you can overdose on your senses! I’ve gone to the Tucson Comic con EVERY year. This year I premiered my reboot of Venom.

Thank You!

I’m back in Phoenix after a great weekend in my hometown for the Tucson Comicon. Thank you to everyone who bought a print! I’m honored and humbled that people like my style of chibi art. I had a lot of good suggestions for next year. Thank you, thank you, thank you! It’s nice to receive such a warm welcome. I’ll be posting video soon on my YouTube channel of some awesome costumes I saw.

NEW ART!

Okay, so I’m working on Power Director to get videos on my blog. In the meantime, I’ve been working on new stuff for the upcoming Tucson and Long Beach Comicons. I redid Ironman, Spiderman, Thor, and Batman. The other versions of my art are now colelctable because I’m no longer offering them. I’ve seen a lot of artists do the same thing at cons year after year. I don’t want to fall into that kind of trap because I don’t think I would grow as an artist. So each year, granted this is my first year, I decided to challenge myself to reinvent a previous drawing. Here is the newly revamped Batman.

It’s Official…Long Beach Comicon

Well, after a lot of waiting and serious disappointment, I won’t be getting a booth at Phoenix Comicon. At first I was upset, especially since I had been trying to get a booth two months before they were actually sold out! The system in place for reserving a booth is confusing and convoluted. Now, I’m thinking everything happens for a reason. For me, its branching out into other markets besides my home state of Arizona. Long Beach opens up Vanquish Studio to the great state of California and more opportunities. Plus, I get an awesome mini vacation away from Phoenix.
