Artist Alley: New Coloring Page Release

This year at Phoenix Fan Fusion (comic con) I ran out of originals! Not a bad problem to have. I actually sold quite a few originals last year at the Tucson Con so I needed to fill my portfolio with new art. One of the things I chose to draw was an anime that a lot of people seem to like. I drew Luffy from One Piece. I personally have never seen an episode! I know. But many people like the character. I tried to draw him in my style.

Below you can see the finished ink/marker version that I put in my portfolio. I didn’t sell this one at the con but I did sell, after five long years, my Martian Manhunter original!! I’m glad it went to a good home.

I’m releasing the black and white inking of One Piece as a coloring page, at least until I make a better one. I may do a whole “One Piece” series, who knows?

New Coloring Page – Yoshi

30 Days to Phoenix Fan Fusion

Countdown to Phoenix Fan Fusion! It’s only, yes, ONLY 30 days away! Holy moly. I need to draw a new armored Batman and Suicide Squad Harley Quinn. I have Baby Groot but I still need to color it. Sheesh! Time flies. The mission is on!

New Coloring Page Release

In the meantime, enjoy Yoshi. Truly, it wasn’t that hard to draw Yoshi because he is basically a chibi character already. I did have fun inking the different line weights. I’m still not sure if the red bump on Yoshi’s back is a shell or a saddle. I have no clue. I’ve seen Mario on Yoshi’s back so it looks like a saddle but the bump is convex instead of concave (like a real saddle) so it’s unclear. Confusing.

Added New Pages

Since I’m getting ready for Phoenix Fan Fusion in May, I seriously need to update my originals section for my booth this year. I’ve sold out of most of my originals, which is a pretty good problem to have, I’m not complaining! First on the list, some nostalgia.

My best friend wanted a tattoo of He-Man, which I did draw for him. He didn’t get the tattoo. So instead of sulking I decided to make a matching Skeletor. I think these two originals will definitely appeal to anyone who watched Saturday cartoons in the 80’s or after school cartoons (let’s not forget syndication) in the 80’s as well. We all know about He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. I may continue the series, who knows? I added new pages to the navigation of my website to account for all the new stuff coming.

Stay tuned! My gaming series is on it’s way.

Originals and Coloring Pages

I just made a few videos for the YouTube channel which I will be able to embed into my posts so stay tuned.

As for coloring pages, I actually get them from the original inked drawings I make for my prints. Recently, however, my business partner and I think we should concentrate on more original and unusual stuff for the originals I sell at cons. Since Dev Fare is coming up and Vanquish Studio will be there, I NEED IDEAS! Anyway, a dark manga called Black Butler seems a good choice and Attack on Titan is a challenge to draw in chibi style. So I’m going to try and create those characters. I also think I should do a One-Piece, One-Punch Man, and Naruto. That brings the total to five new originals (and possibly coloring pages). Any other ideas? Please leave a comment.

In the mean time, I drew this as a tattoo for a friend. He never did it. That’s okay, you can still enjoy the art. Next up is a matching Skeletor! I may do a series on old television shows like the Thundercats. Hmmm. . . .

More Coloring Pages

A few years back, in 2014, they did a reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. I did a set of the turtles for the 2014 (or maybe it was 2015) movie with Megan Fox and all the comic conventions I went to those subsequent years. I understand that the movie didn’t really do that well which may explain why it took so long to sell these! Sometimes the CGI just can’t overcompensate for a poor story. Anyway, I revived my original inks and made them into a set of, you guessed it, COLORING PAGES!
